The Tachi is a full tang sword held by 2 bamboo Mekugi pegs.
The Bohi or Blood Groove produces terrific Tachi Kaze whenever you swing the Tachi.
The popular 1060 steel type is our most simple steel creating of Tachi blade. As it’s made of carbon steel, it needs regular oiling & routine maintenance.

1060 Carbon Steel Tachi

A well-balanced Tachi comes with a blade that is 3.2 cm wide, 72 cm in length, and will weigh 1.69KG. In addition, it has a Tsuka (handle) that is 27 cm long.
The Tachi handle is well assembled and it comes completely wrapped with Red Ito wrap over Black Samegawa (ray skin).
The Tachi comes with Black And Red Dual Color Saya to cover and protect the blade after utilizing it. The Saya is carved perfectly for the blade to enable smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword when practicing laido or Tameshigiri.
To ensure that the Tachi’s blade is fixed, it should include quality-made Tosogu. These comprise of the Tsuba, Kashira, Fuchi, and Menuki.
