    The Shirasaya is a Japanese blade mount that features a Saya and Tsuka, it is often made of wood.

    You can create your custom Shirasaya blade and mount as per your requirements in the form below, if you have any question, don't hesitate to contact us. 

    Our Custom Shirasaya swords are personally constructed and made to order, there is a varied amount of different options and enhancements you can select from to make your custom Shirasaya sword exceptional and unique.

    *Size:

    The Shirasaya can be made in your preferred size and style.

    Choose from the variations below, which kind of blade you prefer your Shirasaya sword to hold:

    • Shirasaya Katana - 72 cm Blade and 25cm Handle.
    • Shirasaya Wakizashi - 50 cm Blade and 22cm Handle.
    • Shirasaya Tanto - 31 cm Blade and 15cm Handle.

    Special Size:

    You can see the standard measurements of the Shirasaya blade and handle in the size selection above. If you would like to further customize the size to your exact specifications, there is additional payment of $90 for our custom sized Shirasaya and making the blade will usually take longer time than usual.

    *Blade Style

    Do you prefer your sword to have traditional curved blade like a Katana, or do you want to make your Shirasaya sword with a straight blade, Ninjato style?

    Part 2: The Steel

    Choose the steel for your Shirasaya sword, you can learn more about the steel in this link, please note that different steel types opens different options.

    *Hamon Type

    Hamon is the result of the differential hardening process on the blade, it is the blade pattern created when the blade is clay tempered.

    *Bohi (Blood Groove)

    The Bohi (sometimes called blood groove or fuller) is a straight groove that is mainly utilized to lighten the blade, and allow more speed to the wielder. choose if you want bohi for your sword:

    Kissaki

    The Kissaki is pointy end (tip) of the Samurai sword that feature a ridge line.
    You can choose between traditional Kissaki or Kiriha Zukuri Kissaki style.

    *Habaki (Blade Collar)

    The Habaki is the blade collar, It is a wedge shaped metal collar utilized to prevent the sword from falling out of its saya; it also works to support the sword's fittings. It fits right at the ha-machi and the mune-machi, preceding the nakago.

    Saya and Handle

    Choose Saya (scabbard) and Handle set for your Shirasaya from the available options: (The Saya and Handle will be made especially for your blade)

    To ensure the Shirasaya is properly made and to help preserving and preventing splinters in the wood, we highly recommend choosing high end Buffalo horn fittings or ones made of brass, (the Shirasaya fittings set include 4 pieces to support the handle and saya from both ends. choose which type of fitting you prefer below:

    Enhancements

    In this section you can enhance your sword and make it truly unique and special, the enhancement options includes: blade coloring, blade polishing, sharpening and engraving.

    Blade Coloring

    The blade will be treated with acid dye color which makes the entire blade surface in color. This gives the blade a unique appearance for those who prefer an extraordinary look on their sword. The Acid Dye treatment is a natural color dyeing method. It does not affect the performance of the sword.

    The Hadori polish enhances the visibility of the crystalline structures of the Hamon. The ultimate purpose of this procedure is to reveal the best of the Hamon.
