The Katana blade is made from T10 clay tempered steel that has a carbon content of 1%; its edge has a hardness of 62 on the Rockwell scale. This blade is best for almost all target cutting such as tatami mats, bamboo poles, and even tree branches; plus, it is also designed for extensive tameshigiri.
T10 steel is referred to as high speed steel or tool steel, the Katana is going through the differential hardening process which allow the edge of the Katana is hardened while leaving the spine softer and more flexible; the hardness will help the blade retain a razor sharp edge while the softness will allow this weapon’s blade to bend without breaking and have additional flexibility.
