The Tsuka and the Fittings
This Katana is wrapped with a black Tsuka Ito. It contributes to the swords beauty and artistic value. It also helps prevent a variety of issues from occurring when you practice Tameshigiri.
Underneath the Ito is the red Samegawa. The wrap keeps the Tsuka dry even if your hands sweat while practicing. This makes gripping the sword easier since it will stay dry. With that, the chances of your sword slipping from your hands will be reduced.
