T10 Clay Tempered Steel

The sword’s blade is crafted using T10 clay tempered steel. This type of steel has a very hard edge but with differential hardening, allows it to have a softer spine. It also gets more flexibility for better use.

Generally, T10 is one of the preferred types of steel for a sword, unless you can afford Tamahagane blade.

A Sharp and Swift Wakizashi Sword

A sharp blade is a fully functional sword, so this Wakizashi can be used for Tameshigiri upon receiving this. It also features a Bohi which runs down along the blade. It helps make the Wakizashi lighter and easier to wield. It also helps make the sword faster and swifter.

Fittings and Accessories

This Wakizashi has fittings that are made from HQ copper. These include the Kashira – designed specifically for balance, the Fuchi – the cap style collar, Tsuba – the hilt or guard, and the Menuki – the nicely-made ornaments located beneath the Tsuka Ito.

The sword also comes with a beautiful white lacquered Saya. It is made from hardwood which is a strong kind of wood perfect for the function of a sheath.

The Saya is the scabbard of a Wakizashi. Its primary purpose is to serve as a blade protector especially when it will be stored for display. What is nice about this piece is that it also comes with a silk sword bag. It can be used to keep the sword when heading out to the Dojo for practice.

The Tsuka, Ito, Samegawa, and Measurements

The Handmade Samurai sword comes with a nice blue Tsuka Ito which helps reinforce the Tsuka. It also helps prevent any damage or issues from occurring when using the Wakizashi.

When it comes to aesthetics, this Tsuka Ito adds more beauty to the sword’s Tsuka. Its blue shade blends perfectly with the red Samegawa that also wraps around the Tsuka.

Now for the Samegawa, it also adds protection to the grip. The difference of this from the Tsuka Ito is that it keeps sweaty hands dry. This allows you to have a better hold on the sword which is important when practicing.

The Wakizashi has a blade length of 51 centimeters and width of 3.2. Its Tsuka measures a good 21 centimeters long for better gripping. Overall, it weighs 1.45 kilograms.
