This is a finely-made Tanto that comes with a nice black lacquered hardwood Saya. It is aesthetically pleasing and just as functional, making it great for use. In the past, swords and daggers may be difficult to acquire, but today, it’s very quick and easy.

Tanto Blade Accessories & Measurements

The Tanto features a black lacquered hardwood Saya that is strong and sturdy enough for protection. Hardwood is a great material to keep the Tanto’ blade from acquiring any damages. Plus, it also lets you pull out the Tanto easily.

An addition to keep the blade safe is the silk sword bag included with this piece. It’s made of a nice material that won’t scratch the Tanto’ Saya.

For its measurements, this Tanto’ blade is 31 centimeters in length and 3.2 centimeters wide. When it comes to its Tsuka, it measures a good 15 centimeters. The overall weight of this blade is only 0.8 kilograms.

Functional and Durable Blade

The Tanto can be used immediately since it is a functional piece. The blade is sharpened which allows you to use this for practice cutting and training in your backyard. Tameshigiri is also possible where you’re allowed to practice on targets.

Another good feature of this Tanto is the fact that it is a full tang. Its tang stretches to almost the entire length of the Tsuka, thus, making it a single piece of metal.

T10 Folded Clay Tempered Steel

Aside from being a sharpened and full tang piece, the blade of this Tanto is crafted from T10 folded, clay tempered steel. This type of steel allows the dagger to be suitable for most cutting targets like tree branches, Tatami mats, and bamboo.

Not only is it tough, but it also has aesthetic value due to the traditional Hada appearing on its surface.

Fittings and Handle

Just like other swords and blades, the above-mentioned Tanto comes with fittings that are made from HQ copper. These are the Fuchi that covers the Tsuka’s opening, the Kashira that is designed for balance, and the Menuki which are ornaments on the Tsuka Ito.

The Tsuka is covered by a nice red Tsuka Ito which has both aesthetic and functional purposes. It plays an excellent role of keeping everything tight, ensuring the blade and assembly over the black Samegawa is firm. The ray skin helps keep your hands from sliding and slipping over the Tsuka while practicing.

Also, the Samegawa keeps your hands dry, so if you usually have sweaty hands, this feature will keep them dry.
