Ninjato Sword
You are looking at a high quality fully functional Japanese Chokuto Ninjato sword. The blade of the sword has been constructed from T10 steel in a Maru Lamination. In accordance with Japanese tradition, the blade has been treated with a clay covering, applied to the entire sword except the cutting edge. The blade is then heated and quenched in spring water.
The combination of the quenching and the clay cover creates a significant temperature difference in the Ha of the blade and the rest of the sword. The hamon is authentic and all the way up to the tip. The result is that the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade, the molecules of the Cutting edge expand and push back the softer steel of the blade creating the traditional Japanese curve.
This straight Chokuto blade has a Kiriha Zukuri Triangle tip shape. The Kissaki is medium with a well defined Yokote. The sword is full tang and sharpened. The balance of the blade is perfect and the sword is completely functional. The blade has been treated with blue acid dye which makes the entire blade surface in blue appearance. This gives the blade a unique appearance for those who prefer an extraordinary look on their sword. The Blue Acid Dye treatment is a natural color dyeing method. It does not affect the performance of the sword.
The Saya has been constructed from hardwood in blue and golden line finish. A blue sageo has been tied around the bright copper Kurigata.
The balance of the blade is perfect and the sword is completely functional. It is well suited for Tamashigiri and other forms of cutting exercises done by those with proper training and supervision. A beautiful silk bag is included with this Ninjato.
