The Tsuba works to protect your hand from the opponents blade. The Kashira and Fuchi often use the same material to appear similar. These two fittings have the same engravers, and have the same pattern and design. For the Menuki, these are ornaments set under the Tsuka Ito.
Its Tsuka is as beautiful as any other part of the sword. It comes with a rayon silk black Ito that blends nicely with the white Samegawa, the sword is held by 2 mekugi pegs.
For the Samegawa, it features nodes with little hooks. These help keep the Ito in place so these won’t loosen or move out of place. It also encourages a better grip.

The Difference of the Nagamaki and Katana
Aside from the length of those samurai swords, the Nagamaki & Katana have distinct differences. Generally, there are no strict rules that govern the aspects of creating the Nagamaki.
It was different from the firm rules in measurements in regards to the blade’s length. In some cases, the hilt was also included. The Nagamaki had a variety in the blade & tang length, the style of its Kisaki, and more.
