The Blade

The Wrap and Fittings of the Tsuka

The Tsuka features a white Samegawa. This prevents the user’s hands from slipping to avoid accidental cuts. On top of this is the Tsuka Ito made of synthetic brown leather. This material is strong and feels smooth.

For its fittings, the blade has an iron Tsuba. For the Menuki, Kashira, and Fuchi, these are all made of metal. These fittings help in balancing the weight of the sword.

Accessories of the Katana

This Katana has a black Saya. This keeps the sword safe from scratches and other forms of damages after using it. The Saya is sanded and carved to achieve the perfect shape for the Katana. Aside from storage, the Saya can also be carried by attaching it to a obi belt.
