This T10 clay tempered handemade Katana sword has a fuller (sometimes called blood groove) which helps lighten the blade to make it easier to wield; the fuller also adds a little dexterity and speed to the blade for better use during practice. The blade of this samurai sword has also been fully sharpened which can readily withstand the rigors and challenges that will be faced during real dojo practice or Tameshigiri.
Clay tempered T10 steel is utilized for this samurai Katanas blade and it is one of the hardest types of steel around. T10 is also referred to as the high speed steel or tool steel which is superior to other carbon steel when it comes to its toughness and durability.
Clay tempered Katanas have a real wave hamon and hardened edge while its spine is kept soft; the edge is hardened to retain a very sharp edge and a soft spine that will allow the weapon to bend without breaking. The T10 steel has a carbon content of 1% and its edge has an HRC hardness of sixty-two.
The measurement of the blade is about seventy-two centimeters in length while its width is 3.2 centimeters. It also has a fairly sized grip which measures around twenty-seven centimeters which make the Katana sword a total of 99 centimeters in length. while it weighs a total of 1.6 kilograms.
