This is a full tang Nodachi.
A Nodachi made of 1095 steel is sufficiently hard for regular practice.
Folding the 1095 Steel 13 times is exactly what results in the eye-catching Hada or grain pattern visible over the blade, it’s a result of 8192 layers of steel.
1095 Folded Steel Nodachi
The Nodachi featured a big blade, which made it a superb sword in the open field obligations. It was an infantry weapon in feudal Japan.
Total length of the Handmade Nodachi’s blade is 110 cm and the width is 3.2 cm. Length of the handle is 35 cm and then the overall weight of the sword is 2.5KG.
A properly assembled Nodachi handle is wrapped tightly and evenly using a Purple Ito wrap over Silver Samegawa.
