Chinese Jian Sword
This is the sword of Zhao Yun (A.D. 168-229) also known as the Han Jian (Han sword). It features a hand forged high carbon steel blade, rosewood scabbard and red cord wrapped handle. The pommel, guard and drag are all Zinc alloy.
Blade: The Jian blade is made of carbon steel and fully sharpened. It is sharp and can be used for drills, practice and cutting tests. The surface of the blade has been engraved and dyed with Chinese scroll work pattern.
Scabbard: The scabbard is red constructed with a double layer structure. The design is masterfully done with the wood contouring to the shape of the sword. The pommel of the scabbard is zine with Chinese scroll work pattern on the bottom. A cotton wrap is tied around the upper half of the sword with a zinc alloy carrying clip featuring another Chinese scroll work in bold relief. The scabbard fits seamlessly to the handle guard.
Guard: The Guard is made of zinc and features ornate scroll work.
Handle: The handle is redwood over the tang of the sword, tapering down from the pommel to the blade. The pommel of the sword is solid zine with the same scroll work design.
